Welcome to Dog Ear Leather! We’re a small, woman-owned business based in Washington, DC, creating handmade leather journal covers and accessories.
By visiting our website or purchasing from Dog Ear Leather, you agree to the following terms.
1. Our Products
Dog Ear Leather offers handmade leather journal covers, accessories, and personalization services.
Because our products are handmade, slight variations in color, grain, texture, dimensions, and finishing are normal. Natural leather may contain markings and develop a patina over time.
We make every effort to represent our products accurately, but colors may appear differently depending on your screen.
2. Customization & Personalization
Customers are responsible for reviewing their selections before placing an order, including leather colors, elastic colors, initials, phrases, artwork requests, and other customization details.
We will follow the information submitted with your order. If something is unclear or cannot be produced as requested, we may contact you for clarification.
We reserve the right to decline personalization requests that are unlawful, infringe intellectual property rights, or cannot reasonably be produced using our materials and techniques.
Custom artwork is subject to the specifications and revision allowances described on the applicable product page.
3. Orders & Payment
All prices are listed in U.S. dollars unless otherwise stated.
Payment is required at checkout. Applicable taxes and shipping charges are calculated during checkout.
We reserve the right to correct pricing or listing errors, decline an order, or cancel an order when necessary. If we cancel an order that has already been paid for, we will issue a refund.
4. Production & Shipping
Most Dog Ear Leather products are made to order.
Please allow 5–10 business days for production, plus shipping time, unless otherwise stated.
Production timelines are estimates rather than guaranteed delivery dates. If a material becomes unavailable or an unexpected delay occurs, we’ll contact you about the available options.

5. Cancellations, Returns & Refunds
Cancellation requests may be accepted within 24 hours of purchase, provided we have not begun production or purchased materials specifically for the order.
Personalized items and specialty-leather products are generally final sale.
Eligible non-personalized standard-leather items may be returned within 30 days of delivery, subject to the conditions in our Return & Refund Policy.

6. Intellectual Property
The Dog Ear Leather name, original artwork, illustrations, product photography, website content, and designs are owned by Dog Ear Leather or used with permission.
They may not be copied, reproduced, distributed, or used commercially without authorization.
By submitting photographs, logos, text, or other materials for personalization, you confirm that you have the necessary rights or permission for us to use those materials to fulfill your order.
You retain ownership of materials you provide. You grant Dog Ear Leather permission to use them as necessary to produce your requested item.
7. Website Information
We work to keep our website accurate and up to date, but occasional errors may occur.
Product availability, colors, prices, and offerings may change without notice.
We reserve the right to update website content and these terms as needed.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Dog Ear Leather is not responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from use of our website or products.
Nothing in these terms limits rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded under applicable consumer protection laws.
